Who We are...
Papilion Arts is a theatre company dedicated to creativity, dialogue, and transformation. We believe theatre is for everyone – a space where stories can be told, voices can be heard, and communities can connect. Our work ranges from Forum Theatre and participatory workshops to performances for wider audiences.

Mission
At the heart of Papilion Arts is Forum Theatre, an interactive method pioneered by Augusto Boal and inspired by Paulo Freire’s ideas of dialogue and empowerment. In Forum Theatre, audiences become “spect-actors” – stepping into performances to propose and try out solutions to real-life conflicts. It is a practice that helps us rehearse change together.
Vision
Papilion Arts was founded by Remi Tawoshe, a theatre director, Forum Theatre facilitator, and community arts leader with over two decades of experience in the UK, Sweden, and internationally. Remi’s work bridges performance, education, and social change, with projects addressing issues such as youth disengagement, workplace rights, migration, racism, and gender inequality.

Through Papilion Arts, Remi and his collaborators continue to build spaces where theatre becomes more than performance – it becomes dialogue, collaboration, and transformation. Whether working with young people, universities, or communities, Papilion Arts is committed to making theatre relevant, accessible, and impactful.
